Sequence/Narrative Proposals

1. I've been obsessed with following food blogs for the past few weeks and I've thought about creating my own, but I don't have the time/energy/cooking skills to devote to it wholeheartedly. However, for a small project like this, I think writing a recipe blog entry would be a great way to incorporate both my love for food and photography. For this project I would bake something in the FT kitchen and document each step of the process with photographs, but I would attempt to make each shot more "artsy" than the type food blogger shots. The follow along instructions would essentially be the narrative, while the photos would be the sequence aspect. Not sure if this is too simple/straightforward though...

2. I also want to do a type of photo narrative, possibly incorporating a forest/Alice in Wonderland storyline, but I need to think of what the narrative would be. I thought it might be cool to pose one of my friends in different scenes from Alice in Wonderland and then rearrange them into a nonsensical sequence to go with the chaos of the actual story/psychedelic theme. Or I could turn the story around and make it seem like the Alice character is a wild and crazy teenager in IV who is trying to get the most out of her youth before maturing and pursuing more demure activities like reading in a tree. I'm just afraid the Alice in Wonderland storyline is too overdone, or that I won't be able to construct a coherent narrative without simply copying the original. I do like the idea of costumes/photoshop enhancing the scenes though.

3. After seeing Dove's Evolution video, I got the idea of taking "before/after" shots of girls I know with and without makeup. This project would be a commentary on society's perceptions of beauty and what it takes to have a high self esteem. I would juxtapose an image of each girl without any make up next to one where they've applied make up and then maybe one more where I've further enhanced their look via photoshop. I could possibly add text to each image with questions like "What is beauty?"
