A year ago I joined an online fashion community called Lookbook.nu where people post photos of their outfits and "hype" other images they like. That's when I came across Rockie Nolan, a 21 year old fashion and portrait photographer currently attending Savannah College of Art and Design. I was in awe. I loved her style and her clothes, but more than that I loved the treatment of her photographs and her editing technique. Her photos always have such a whimsical, ethereal quality that seems so effortless. They're photographs that I consider quintessentially beautiful. Whenever I look at her work I feel a contradicting sense of jealousy and humbled appreciation. I wonder if I applied to a strictly arts school if my work would reach the same quality, or if her talent is purely intrinsic and something I could never achieve even with years of technical training. She's one of my favorite artists because I can relate to her interests and she's an art student like myself, which gives me hope that some day I'll be able to put together an extensive and remarkable portfolio like hers.
Here are some of my favorite photos:

Rockie Nolan, Fashion Photography (what's even cooler is this girl went to my high school!)
