Upcoming Assignments

I'm a little uneasy about the Personal Space and Alternate Identity projects. I'm not comfortable making a fool out of myself in front of an entire college campus. I don't think I could muster up the courage/stomach to pretend to be a hamster and eat my test book. But alas, this art class will continue to push me in new directions and I guess in the long run it'll be worth it.

When I think of personal space I immediately think about living with a roommate. Being a freshman in the dorms is a completely new experience compared to living at home and having your own room. Suddenly you have to consider another person's sleeping/studying/tv watching/showering habits and in the best case scenario things sync up, but a lot of times they don't. Luckily I get along really well with my roommate and we've actually become close friends, but it might be funny if I divided up our room into individual compartments and labeled things as specifically mine rather than communal. This could also work as an alternate identity assignment because we usually split everything and don't mind when one person is on the other person's "side" of the room.

I'll have to think more about personal space ideas for the UCSB campus, but this was just a quick brainstorm.
