Flash Mob Review

I loved our flash mobs today! Each one was so much fun, and they definitely got people's attention. If I had to rank them, I would probably pick the first gun stand off, then the ninja fight, then duck, duck, goose, and finally the library tunnel, although I thought they all had awesome moments. Here's a video and a short recap of each mob:

Duck, Duck, Goose

Running in circles on wet grass in sandals does not work. Running in circles early in the morning over and over again also does not bode well with our out of shape bodies. However, this was our silliest and most “wholesome” flash mob (the others were kind of violent...), and I think the people riding to class on the main bike path got a kick out of it.

Gun Stand Off

This was my favorite because of people's reactions. I wish people had seen the initial altercation that started it, but once we held our fire we had everyone's attention. It was also fun to be dramatic and fall to the ground at the end. I liked this the best because we were scattered among strangers and essentially took over the Ucen, which is what flash mobs seem to be all about.

Ninja Fight

I'm glad we brought a little bit of laughter into the construction workers' lives today. I don't think wearing a hot pink hoodie made me look like a stealth ninja, but unlike during our practice runs in class I actually got into the fighting this time and tried to make epic sound effects/bust out some martial arts. Huge shout out to Britta for being willing to start such a ridiculous fight.

Library Tunnel

This one was great once we were able to execute it after a shaky start. The best reaction was the girl in the blue sweatshirt who got caught in our rush and didn't know whether to participate or run away. “Why are we doing this? What's going on?” she asked. Poor girl had no clue what was happening, but that's what made it even funnier.

When I tell my friends what we do in Art 7A they look at me in disbelief and tell me how jealous they are. I'm really glad I get to be a part of these fun projects and hang out with such nice people every week.
