Flash Mobs

I would love to be part of one of these! For "research" I looked up the meaning of a flash mob on wikipedia and I think it would be a really cool way for our class to infiltrate public space and start thinking about our personal space/alternate persona projects. Unfortunately I can't dance or sing, but if there was a big enough group I could probably muster up the courage to do either (how's that for resisting to peer pressure?) I also like the flash mobs that freeze in place randomly because people just don't know how to react. Here are some ideas I've come up with:

- Do "the wave" along the entire length of the UCSB main bike path
- Get together a mob of people blowing bubbles
- Wear blue/gold and have a massive gaucho inspired cheer

Of course we could also do a song/dance, but those might be too unoriginal. I guess it depends on what song/dance we perform though. I'm also not sure about the location of this event... Storke Plaza is a large space, but not many people hang out down there. The library would probably be pissed if we made a ruckus. The roundabouts along the bike path are too small to invade without getting in the way. But logistics aside, count me in to participate!

Here are two videos I've seen in the past that are pretty entertaining:
